Dengue fever is an infectious disease carried by Aedes aegypti mosquitoes and caused by any of four related dengue viruses. This disease used to be called "break-bone fever" because it sometimes causes severe joint and muscle pain that feels like bones are breaking.

The symptoms of classic dengue usually start within a week after being infected. They include very high fever, up to 105°F, severe headache, pain behind the eye, severe joint and muscle pain, nausea and vomiting and a rash.

There is no treatment for dengue, just treat the symptoms, so if you want to avoid from dengue fever you have to follow the preventive measures:

  1. For residents living in areas infested with Aedes mosquito is to eliminate the places where the mosquito lays her eggs, primarily artificial containers that hold water. You must make sure that there is no stagnant water in trash cans, flower pots or old tires as these are the common places where these mosquitoes can flourish.
  2. A person, who may be having a dengue virus, should be kept in isolation. It is better to keep the patient under mosquito netting. Also, there should be other preventive measures so the virus may never become able to spread.
  3. Keep your environment clean, which will prevent the mosquitoes to grow.
  4. You must keep in mind that the Aedes aegypti is a mosquito that bites in the daytime, especially around sunrise and sunset. So, practice special care during these times.
  5. Immediately give febrifuge for fever when patients have a fever or high fever.
  6. Give a lot of drinks to people who affected by the virus.
  7. Treatment of this disease is mainly intended to overcome the bleeding , prevent / overcome the shock / presoak.
  8. Fogging or fumigation will kill adult mosquitoes.
  9. Finally, if the visible signs of shock, immediately take the patient to hospital.
