What is depression? Depression is the opposite of happiness. Depression is always a feeling, an emotion, about yourself, not about the outside world or your circumstances in life. Depression is best described as alteration in a mood, emotional state, behavior, feelings and overall mental being. But, most importantly it has been found that depression sets in from a sense of loss. This feeling of loss may range from financial loss such as loss of a job to emotional discomfort such as losing someone near and dear ones. Often, ill health and loss of mobility due to prolonged sickness are contributing factors in being depressed.
Some early signs of depression: Change in appetite and sleeping patterns. Losing interest in activities enjoyed before. Feeling unworthy. Losing hope. Feeling guilty without any reason. Becoming indecisive.
Depression if not treated can be fatal as it enhances suicidal tendency of an individual. So what can we do? If you feel the depression too, then you can follow the steps below :

- Go for a walk, try getting outside and go for a walk during the day. It Can give you fresh atmosphere and will help improve your mood;
- Practice meditation, this will help calm the mind also help appreciate life more.
- Listen to some music make you feel comfortable and rileks;
- Practice yoga and active sports, yoga will help clear your mind and active sports will switch your mind from the negative aspects you concentrate on as well as increase endorphin ("happy" hormone) levels;
- Eat good food, even though you are experiencing depression, but you still must maintain the condition of the body with still keep to eating a good food;
- Do something creative, try channeling yourself into creating something artistic, it could be writing such as poetry, painting, modeling, photography, fashion, web design.
- Talk, find someone you can talk to, you need someone who will listen rather than someone who is going to tell you what to do;
- Take time to relax and enjoy your life, this will help keep a stress level low so you will not get exhausted, burnt out and eventually depressed;
- Plan ahead after you experience failure, or anything that makes your depression;
- Be grateful for everything you have in your life, there are always things to be grateful for. As you evolve through this process you'll learn to be grateful for everything;
- And the last is Consult to your doctor, psychologist or healthy care professionals to treat depression work as counselors and talk to patients suffering from depression and probe to understand the root cause of depression.
