Nosebleed Prevention Tips

Do you frequent nosebleeds? Don’t panic, because actually nosebleeds caused by mucous membranes and blood vessels in the nose thin. So when there is bleeding you should do the following:

  1. First aid can do is stop the bleeding without the help of drugs and devices. Simply by sitting with the body and head position slightly forward. Then use your thumb and forefinger to press and hold my nose. While mouth opened to breathe. Do it for 1-2 minutes. Usually blood stopped immediately.
  2. Or you can try to compress the nose with ice. Wrap the ice with a handkerchief and then put on the forehead and nose. Ice attached blood vessels can shrink too quickly so the bleeding stopped. Compress can be done during ongoing bleeding and stopped.
Meanwhile, to prevent nosebleeds you can do the following:
  • Use air conditioning wisely and safely. Don't set the air conditioner was too cold and long. In addition wasteful energy, will air in the room become very cold and dry.
  • Avoid yourself from cigarette smoke. Besides can irritate the respiratory tract, the cigarette also can dry nasal tract. And will easily make you a nosebleed.
  • When itchy, runny nose, or cleaning up your nose, you should use a tissue or handkerchief. Avoid the habit of picking at nose or blowing air through the nose too hard.
  • Try eating lots of vegetables and fruits in order to strengthen the nasal mucous membranes.
  • Keep yourself from objects allergy triggers at home. As well as avoiding yourself from something that causes your allergies, especially respiratory allergies. For example, dirty environment, filled with dust, or inhaling seasoning too stinging.
