Tips for Dealing with the Danger of Volcanic Eruption Tips and Tricks

Volcanic eruptions are among the Earth's most powerful and destructive forces. Deep within the Earth it is so hot that some rocks slowly melt and become a thick flowing substance called magma. Because it is lighter than the solid rock around it, magma rises and collects in magma chambers. Eventually some of the magma pushes through vents and fissures in the Earth's surface. A volcanic eruption occurs! Magma that has erupted is called lava.

So, how can we avoid the danger of volcanic eruption. Here are tips and tricks:

Preparation
when facing volcanic eruptions
  • Recognizing the local area in determining a safe place to evacuate.
  • Create a disaster plan.
  • Preparing for evacuation if necessary.
  • Preparing for the basic needs
If the volcanic eruption occurred
  • Avoid areas prone to disasters such as mountain slopes, valleys and lava flow area.
  • On open place, protect themselves from ash and pyroclastic eruptions. Prepare yourself for the possibility of subsequent disasters.
  • Wear clothing that can protect the body such as: long sleeves, long pants, hats and more.
  • Do not wear contact lenses.
  • Wear a mask or cloth to cover mouth and nose
  • When the decline in heat clouds try to cover his face with both hands.
After volcanic eruption happen
  • Stay away from areas affected by ash falls
  • Clear roofs of ash heap. Because of its weight, can damage or tear down the roof of the building.
  • Avoid driving in areas affected by the rain of ash can cause engine damage
