- Avoid foods that contain lots of purines, such as beer, alcoholic beverages, anchovies, sardines, eggs, fish, yeast, liver, kidney, legumes (peas, gnetum gnemon), meat extracts, broth, mushrooms, asparagus, spinach and flowers cabbage. Purine including non-essential components for the body, meaning that purines can be produced by the body itself.
