TIPS AND TRICKS

Diamond is forever, but how do you define a diamond is genuine or fake? and assess the quality of diamond? Here are tips and tricks.

Assessing the quality of a diamond is determined by 4C, which are: Color, Clarity, Cut and Carat

1. Color
Diamonds have a color levels ranging from D (colorless) to Z (having high levels of color / colored-hued). Usually diamond on the market is ranging at 96% level of color fidelity or H and 97%, or G, while the best are the 100% or D.

The most popular diamond colors are white, while the most expensive diamonds are diamonds that are not colored (colorless, Icy white). The colored diamonds (fancy) price will be determined by the color depth it has. The higher these diamonds have no color, the higher the price.
2. Clarity
The clarity of a diamond is determined by the amount, type, color, size, location and type of inclusions. "Dirt, the irregularity of surface, air bubbles, and defects (inclusions) in a diamond can inhibit the fluorescent light that can reduce the value of a diamond that you own. Defects in diamond can be viewed through a magnifying glass with magnification of at least 10 times. The less inclusions the more valuable is the case then the value of diamonds. As a certified diamond, the purity of the structure listed on the certificate, serves as evidence to identify the diamonds.
3. Cut
In the process of cutting and the formation of diamond, the more side crystal then shinning the greater the effect. A good piece of diamond is not too short and too deep to be able to reflect light back out, so as to show the true beauty of the diamond.
4. Carat
Diamonds are sold by weight measured in 'carats'. One carat is equivalent to 0.2 grams / 200 mg or 1 / 5 gram, which is divided into 100 points. In the jewelry with more than one diamond, the term 'rust' is described as a total carat weight which is a combined weight of all stones in the jewelry.
